Couples' psychotherapy
I trained at the Tavistock Institute in London in 2009, a leading couple therapy training institution, underpinned by decades of psychodynamic research and evaluation.
Psychotherapy for couples' and relationships can be helpful during times of change, anxiety and depression, betrayal or difficulty within the couple relationship. It may be that you need support to hold mixed feelings about having a new baby, weathering the storm of complex emotions that adolescence brings, or thinking about separation or divorce.
I really enjoy my work in this area, it is rich and diverse and a lot of material can be worked through in a relatively short period of time.I am passionate about supporting parents, adult parents of adult of young people, or any other relational dyad.
In complex situations where there is a degree of conflict, or if your situation seems to be impossible to resolve I work with you together, and separately on a one to one basis. Psychotherapy provides an interesting insight into the unconscious and conscious dynamics that may no longer serve you in relationship. Following an initial consultation to explore your presenting issues, I normally suggest four weekly sessions. After that we may decide to meet less frequently to support understanding and communication.
Couples intensive sessions are held on Saturdays and enable people who are working, or travelling, an opportunity to deepen into the presenting issues-please ask for details about a bespoke plan to support your situation.
